Stored script execution via accepted SVG attachments
Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Trudesk before 1.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via a crafted SVG ticket attachment. The uploadImageMDE handler in src/controllers/tickets.js included .svg and .svgz in its allowedExtensions list, so it accepted active SVG content as an image attachment. An authenticated uploader must store the attachment and a user must view it in a browser, placing that user's Trudesk session data and actions within the injected script's reach.
