CVE-2022-1035Public exploit

Process crash via unchecked scene-field pointer

Published Mar 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

NULL pointer dereference in MP4Box before 2.1.0-DEV allows local users to crash the process using -lsr on a crafted media file. gf_dump_vrml_simple_field dereferences field.far_ptr while dumping an SFNode without first checking whether the pointer is NULL. Reaching the flaw requires a user to process attacker-controlled media; the demonstrated consequence is termination of that MP4Box process.
