CVE-2022-1025Network attack vector

Admin privilege escalation via unenforced project restrictions

Published Jul 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper access control in Argo CD 0.5.0 through 2.1.12, 2.2.7, and 2.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to bypass project limits. Application resource APIs omit AppProject allowlist and denylist enforcement when accessing destination-cluster resources. Exploitation requires Application privileges or a known Event identifier; impact ranges from Event disclosure in 0.5.0 to cluster modification and admin escalation from 1.0.0.
