Local-network access via insufficient cover URL validation
Published Apr 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SSRF in Calibre-Web before 0.6.18 allows remote authenticated users to make server-side requests to local-network services. The cps.helper.save_cover_from_url path fetches a supplied cover URL, while its address validation fails to reject other private-network hosts. An account with cover-upload permission can use the application as a network pivot and read responses accepted as cover images.
