Stored XSS via permitted .properties uploads
Published Mar 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in ShowDoc before 2.10.4 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in another user's browser via .properties uploads. AttachmentModel::isAllowedFilename accepts the .properties extension, so attacker-controlled file content is stored and later served without safe handling. A logged-in uploader and user interaction are required; script execution occurs in the viewer's browser context.
