Stored XSS via unescaped marker attributes
Published Apr 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Mark Posts before 2.0.1 allows remote authenticated users with administrator privileges to execute script via a crafted marker. The Add new markers setting stores a marker that is rendered in an HTML attribute without escaping, allowing injected event-handler attributes. An administrator must save the payload, and another user must load a page that renders the marker for the script to run in that visitor's browser context.
