Administrator RCE via Lodash connection template evaluation
Published Mar 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Template injection in SQLPad before 6.10.1 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute arbitrary code. The connection test passes crafted connection strings to renderConnection, which compiles them with Lodash _.template and evaluates embedded JavaScript. Administrator credentials are required; successful exploitation runs commands with the SQLPad server process's privileges.
