Stored XSS via allowed .xxhtml upload
Published Mar 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in ShowDoc before 2.10.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser via file upload. AttachmentModel::isDangerFilename omits .xxhtml from its dangerous-filename denylist, so uploaded .xxhtml content remains web-renderable. Exploitation requires an uploaded file to be opened by another user and permits script-driven reads or changes within that user's ShowDoc session.
