CVE-2022-0930Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via upload extension denylist bypass

Published Mar 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stored XSS in Microweber before 1.2.12 allows remote authenticated users to upload a crafted file that executes script in another user's browser. The Plupload handler checks the filename extension only against a dangerous-file denylist, so an unlisted active type passes the filter and is stored. Authenticated upload access and subsequent viewing of the stored file are required, bounding the consequence to script execution in the viewer's Microweber origin.
