Stored XSS via incomplete upload extension blocklist
Published Mar 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Microweber before 1.2.12 allows attackers to upload active web content that executes when another user opens it. The Files.php dangerous-extension denylist omitted numerous web-executable extensions, including HTML, so the upload filter accepted content capable of running script. Exploitation requires a user to open the stored upload, where its script runs in that user's browser context and can read or alter accessible page data.
