Authenticated code execution via unfiltered backup archives
Published Mar 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Microweber before 1.2.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through Backup/Restore. ZipReader extracts archive members into the web-accessible userfiles tree without rejecting dangerous PHP files, allowing uploaded scripts to execute. Administrative Backup/Restore access is required, and successful exploitation grants control of the server-side application and its data.
