CVE-2022-0906Network attack vector

Stored XSS via omitted ASPX upload filter

Published Mar 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stored XSS in Microweber before 1.1.12 allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user's browser via an ASPX upload. The get_dangerous_files_extentions() denylist omits the aspx extension, so the upload filter accepts an ASPX file that persists attacker-controlled script. Administrative upload access and a victim opening the stored file are required, bounding the consequence to browser-context data access and modification.
