Administrator database disclosure via selected_icons SQL injection
Published Apr 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in CyberNetikz Easy Social Icons before 3.1.4 allows remote authenticated users to read WordPress database data. The cnss_widget code places each selected_icons value directly inside the id IN(...) clause of a query against wp_cn_social_icon, allowing an injected closing parenthesis and UNION SELECT. An Administrator session and a widget nonce are required; exploitation can retrieve database values such as WordPress password hashes.
