Phishing via unrestricted embedded iframe content
Published Mar 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in BookStack before 22.02.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through crafted iframe content. Page content permits iframe tags without sandboxing or a frame-src restriction, allowing an attacker-controlled frame to run JavaScript and navigate the top-level page. Exploitation requires page-editing access and a viewer to open the stored content, enabling phishing and browser-context data or interface manipulation.
