Stored XSS via unescaped album names
Published May 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Serhii Pasyuk Gmedia Photo Gallery before 1.20.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via album names. The media-embed output inserts an album name into pages or posts without sanitizing or escaping it, so stored markup executes when a media post is viewed. Administrator-level access is required, and the injection remains effective when the unfiltered_html capability is disabled.
