Administrator code execution via icon-pack ZIP upload
Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Evan Herman WPIcons 3.2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code via an icon-pack ZIP. The custom-set administration page accepts an archive containing selection.json and a PHP file, then exposes the PHP member beneath the WordPress uploads directory. Administrator access to WordPress is required; successful exploitation stores a web-accessible PHP shell and enables arbitrary server commands.
