Information disclosure in the Linux kernel before 5.14-rc1 allows local users to read uninitialized kernel memory through an ext4 image. The ext4_ext_tree_init and ext4_ext_split paths create extent headers without initializing eh_generation, allowing residual bytes to reach user space. Exploitation requires local access and permission to supply or inspect the affected ext4 storage path; the demonstrated consequence is stale kernel-data disclosure.
