CVE-2022-0841Network attack vector

Command execution via unvalidated only option

Published Mar 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

OS command injection in ljharb npm-lockfile 2.0.3 and 2.0.4 allows attackers to execute commands through the only option. The getLockfile function passes the unvalidated only value into command-producing package-management logic instead of restricting accepted values. Exploitation requires a caller to supply attacker-controlled data to this library option; the bundled CLI does not expose the option.
