CVE-2022-0840Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped image_file value

Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stored XSS in CyberNetikz Easy Social Icons before 3.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via a crafted icon. The add-icon handler stores the image_file value without proper escaping, and the payload executes when the contaminated icon is edited. Administrator-level access is required to plant the payload, and a second user must open the poisoned edit view, exposing that browser session to script actions.
