CVE-2022-0833Network attack vector

Database backup disclosure via exposed refresh race

Published Mar 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in Church Admin before 3.4.135 allows remote attackers to download plugin database backups through forged requests. The refresh-backup action starts backup generation without authorization, while a publicly accessible temporary file reveals the final backup filename during repeated concurrent requests. Exploitation requires an administrator to follow a forged request and the attacker to win the timing race, after which the generated database backup can be fetched without authentication.
