Unauthenticated SQL injection via unescaped AJAX URL
Published May 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in Majba WP Video Gallery 1.7.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter database queries through an unauthenticated AJAX request. The wp_video_gallery_ajax_add_single_youtube action inserts the url parameter into a SQL statement without sanitization or escaping. The published proof of concept sends a nested SLEEP expression through the public AJAX endpoint, demonstrating time-based query control without authentication.
