Stored XSS via nonce bypass and customCss
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in SearchIQ – The Search Solution before 3.9 allows remote attackers to inject script via customCss. The siq_ajax action accepts nononce=1 to bypass CSRF nonce verification and stores the customCss value without sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires a configured API key and an administrator to open the plugin's Options tab, where the stored script executes in the administrator's browser.
