Authenticated comment deletion via REST authorization bypass
Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Incorrect authorization in WooCommerce before 6.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary comments through the REST API. The v1 and v2 product-review REST handlers checked authorization against the supplied product identifier rather than the targeted comment. Any registered account, including a Subscriber, can permanently remove comments, product reviews, or order notes when user registration is enabled.
