Account takeover via CSRF-triggered cookie logging
Published Mar 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
CSRF in Translate WordPress with GTranslate before 2.9.9 allows remote attackers to steal administrator cookies via a crafted link. The url_addon/gtranslate.php endpoint accepts enable_debug without a CSRF check and writes request data, including cookies, to the publicly accessible url_addon/debug.txt file. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open the attacker-controlled link or page; exposed session cookies enable account takeover.
