Unauthenticated SQL injection via data_target
Published Apr 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in the Users Ultra WordPress plugin through 3.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute SQL via the rating_vote AJAX action. The action interpolates the unsanitized data_target parameter directly into an SQL statement instead of safely parameterizing or escaping it. The endpoint is available without authentication, so internet-reachable WordPress sites can face database disclosure, modification, or service interruption depending on database permissions.
