Authenticated arbitrary email sending via missing authorization
Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Missing authorization in LikeBtn Like Button Rating before 2.6.45 allows remote authenticated users to send arbitrary emails. Public records do not name the affected AJAX action or function, but establish that attacker-controlled recipient, subject, and body values reach the email-sending path without adequate authorization. Any logged-in account, including Subscriber-level access, can cause the WordPress site to deliver attacker-chosen messages to arbitrary recipients.
