Stored XSS via unsanitized hover text
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Coffee2Code Text Hover before 4.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a visitor's browser. The settings handler stores administrator-supplied hover text without sanitization, and tooltip rendering inserts it into page markup without output escaping. Administrator access is required to define the payload, and a visitor must view affected content and hover over the configured term for script to run in that visitor's browser context.
