Payment-note modification via missing CSRF check
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Easy Digital Downloads before 2.11.6 allows remote attackers to make an administrator add arbitrary payment notes. The admin-ajax payment-note handler accepts the payment identifier and note fields without verifying a request nonce. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to submit an attacker-crafted request, and the bounded effect is modification of stored payment records.
