Admin-level stored XSS via unescaped log filename
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Easy Digital Downloads before 2.11.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a downloadable file name. The file-download log renders the stored file-name value in the Reports > Logs table without sanitizing it on input or escaping it on output. Administrator-level access is required to create or edit the filename, unfiltered_html must be disallowed, and the script runs when another user opens the log.
