Administrator-level stored XSS via unsanitized text settings
Published Mar 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Andrea Greco GDMylist 1.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through plugin settings. The settings handler stores text fields such as Add to Mylist icon without sanitizing them, and the plugin later renders the values without escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and exploitation remains possible when WordPress denies the unfiltered_html capability; viewing content that renders the saved setting runs the injected script in the visitor's browser.
