User redirection via unchecked login next parameter
Published Mar 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Open redirect in Archivy before 1.7.0 allows remote attackers to send authenticated users to an attacker-controlled site after login. The login route passes the user-controlled next query parameter directly to Flask's redirect() without validating its scheme or destination host. Exploitation requires a victim to follow a crafted login URL and successfully authenticate, after which the browser leaves the trusted origin.
