Open redirect via unvalidated redirect host
Published Apr 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Open redirect in PostHog before 1.34.1 allows remote attackers to send users to attacker-controlled sites via authorize_and_redirect/?redirect=. The endpoint trusted the requested redirect host and insufficiently constrained it against the team’s permitted app URLs, allowing an external destination. Exploitation requires a crafted link and victim interaction; it facilitates phishing or credential capture but does not itself grant server-side data access.
