CVE-2022-0637Public exploitNetwork attack vector

User redirection via newline-prefixed path

Published Feb 16, 2023 · Updated Mar 19, 2025

Open redirect in Mozilla PollBot before 1.4.6 allows remote attackers to send users to an arbitrary site through a crafted URL. The handle_404 middleware builds an HTTP 302 Location header after stripping only slash characters from the requested path, leaving encoded leading newlines able to produce an external redirect. Exploitation requires a user to follow an attacker-supplied PollBot URL; the Mozilla-hosted URL can lend credibility to phishing or malicious download delivery.
