Account enumeration via password-reset timing differences
Published Feb 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Information disclosure in Grokability Snipe-IT before 5.3.11 allows remote attackers to enumerate accounts through password resets. ForgotPasswordController exposed different response times because password-reset processing was not balanced with a delay across outcomes. No authentication or user interaction is required; repeated timing measurements disclose account existence without exposing passwords or modifying records.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
