Free purchases via negative product quantities
Published Feb 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper quantity validation in Microweber before 1.2.11 allows remote authenticated users to obtain products without paying full value. The shopping-cart quantity handling accepts negative product amounts and uses them when calculating the order total, allowing an attacker-controlled quantity to reduce the payable value. A customer account and an enabled online shop are required; the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized price manipulation, not code execution or service interruption.
