Information disclosure via unprotected debug AJAX action
Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Shareaholic before 9.7.6 allows remote attackers to disclose plugin and platform details via a WordPress AJAX request. The shareaholic_debug_info action on wp-admin/admin-ajax.php returns active-plugin listings and PHP, cURL, and WordPress version data without enforcing the required capability. Requests are unauthenticated before 9.7.5 and require only an Author-level account in 9.7.5, producing information disclosure without reported data modification or service interruption.
