Unauthenticated SSRF via unvalidated AJAX URL
Published Mar 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Server-side request forgery in Subtle Web Inc FormCraft before 3.8.28 allows remote attackers to make server-side requests via AJAX. The formcraft3_get AJAX action passes the unvalidated URL parameter to a server-side fetch, permitting requests to attacker-chosen or loopback destinations. No authentication is required; reachable WordPress sites can be induced to access internal HTTP services, with response exposure depending on endpoint behavior.
