CVE-2022-0545

Code execution via image-dimension integer overflow

Published Feb 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Integer overflow in Blender before 2.83.19, before 2.93.8, and before 3.1 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted 2D image. IMB_flipx and IMB_flipy multiply image dimensions and pixel-stride values in narrow integer intermediates that silently overflow before pointer arithmetic. A user must load the image; the resulting out-of-bounds read or attacker-directed write discloses process data or executes code in Blender's context.
