Authenticated financial-data corruption via incomplete settings validation
Published Mar 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Business logic errors in Crater before 6.0.5 allow remote authenticated users to alter stored company and invoice financial data. UpdateCompanySettingsController dereferences a supplied settings array without first confirming that the currency key exists, while invoice-item tax creation omits authoritative exchange-rate, base-amount, and currency values. An authenticated account with access to the affected endpoints can corrupt stored financial configuration and derived tax values without user interaction.
