Improper file permissions in Fidelis Network and Deception before 9.4.5 allow local users with administrative CLI access to gain root privileges. The CommandPost, Collector, Sensor, and Sandbox components grant those users write access to files used with root-equivalent authority. Exploitation requires local administrative CLI access, and successful file modification elevates that administrator to the root user.
