Script execution via unescaped callback parameter
Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in Favicon by RealFaviconGenerator before 1.3.23 allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser. The Favicon admin dashboard reads json_result_url from the query string and outputs it into the page without sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to open a crafted dashboard URL, allowing script execution in that administrator's WordPress session.
