Administrator remote code execution via Redux file upload
Published Mar 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Catch Themes Demo Import before 2.1.1 allows remote authenticated users with admin rights to execute PHP code. The ctdi_import_demo_data AJAX action accepts a PHP payload in the redux_file upload without enforcing an allowed file type, then stores it in the web-accessible WordPress uploads directory. Administrator access and a valid nonce are required; the path bypasses hardened-site restrictions that disable unfiltered HTML and file editing.
