Subscriber-level stored XSS via unchecked settings update
Published Mar 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in 3D FlipBook before 1.12.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in pages containing a flipbook. The fb3d_receive_book_control_props AJAX action accepts props[lightbox][default] into global settings without authorization, a nonce, sanitization, or output escaping. Subscriber access is sufficient to store the payload, which runs when another user views any page containing a 3D flipbook.
