Heap buffer overflow in Vim before 8.2.4219 allows local users to crash the editor by triggering a crafted block-yank operation. In yank_copy_line in src/register.c, a whitespace test dereferences textstart plus s minus one before confirming that s is greater than zero. Exploitation requires user interaction with attacker-controlled editing input; the published proof of concept terminates the Vim process.
