Authenticated reflected XSS via unescaped AJAX parameter
Published Mar 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in WPC Smart Wishlist for WooCommerce before 2.9.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through an AJAX request. The wishlist_quickview action returns the untrusted key parameter in its response without sanitizing or escaping it, causing the browser to treat injected markup as executable script. Exploitation requires an authenticated session and victim interaction with a crafted HTTPS form; the resulting script runs in the victim's site context.
