Admin-level SQL injection via unsanitized pid parameter
Published Feb 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in WP Review Slider before 11.0 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to read or alter database data. The Twitter-source copy action inserts the unvalidated pid query parameter into a database query, allowing injected UNION SELECT clauses to run. Administrator-level access is required; the published proof of concept extracts WordPress usernames and password hashes, while other injected SQL can alter records.
