Browser script execution via unsanitized module values
Published Jan 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in Microweber before 1.2.11 allows remote attackers to execute script in a visitor's browser through a crafted URL. ApiController::module merges GET and POST data but sanitizes only parameter names, leaving parameter values to be rendered without XSS cleaning. A visitor must open the attacker-crafted URL; the resulting script runs in that visitor's Microweber origin and can read or alter browser-accessible data.
