Stored script execution via unsafe AngularJS interpolation
Published Jan 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Live Helper Chat before 3.93 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser. The Personal Theme form places stored static-content JSON inside an AngularJS ng-init attribute, causing AngularJS expressions in a saved name to be evaluated. Exploitation requires access to Personal Theme settings and a subsequent visit to the saved content; the executed script can read or alter data available to that browser session.
