Authenticated root command execution via improper input validation
Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
OS command injection in Ricon S9922L 16.10.3 and S9922XL 16.10.3 routers allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands. The product accepts attacker-controlled data without adequate input validation before constructing an OS command, but the affected endpoint and parameter are undisclosed. Access to the authenticated management interface is required, and injected commands execute with Admin (root) privileges, permitting configuration changes or service interruption.
