Session-cookie disclosure via cross-host redirect forwarding
Published Jan 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Information exposure in simple-get 4.0.0, 3.0.0 through 3.1.0, and before 2.8.2 allows remote attackers to read session cookies. The redirect handler in index.js reuses the original request headers after a 3xx response points to another hostname instead of deleting Cookie and Authorization. A remote server that receives a credential-bearing request and returns a cross-host redirect can collect those credentials; no integrity or availability impact is reported.
